The Agriculture Workers Alliance, the BC Fed’s Health and Safety Centre and the Street Nurse Program invite you to this year’s Community Health Fair & Independence Day Celebration in Langley. This event is free and open to everyone! The fair focuses on reaching out to temporary workers who come every year to the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver areas, especially those who work the fields so we can enjoy great local food our tables.

There will be information tables from Health Canada, WorkSafe BC, the BC Centre for Disease Control, and more. Also, doctors and nurses who can provide services, and other activities such as music, food, games and raffles.

Did you know? September 7th is Brazil Independence Day, and September 15th is most of Central America’s (including Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador), while the 16th is Mexico’s, and the 18th is Chile’s. This is why we are organizing a Latin American Independence Day Celebration after the fair, so that people can join in the joy and celebrations.

We are hoping to bring together the community at large in order to raise awareness about the presence of temporary workers in Canada and their need for support.
